The Course
Kim is a South African artist who is very well known for her large scale, colorful and vibrant floral paintings. Throughout her 30+ year career, Kim has held countless workshops and following repeated requests is now making available a limited series of online tutorials, sharing with students her unique and bold approach to painting florals.
In this very first online tutorial, Kim will share with you the foundations of constructing and painting a flower. The tutorial was filmed in Kim's studio in Kommetjie Cape Town.

Curriculum
What will you learn
You will learn how to approach painting a flower in full bloom. Kim will take you through a step-by-step process learning values and color observation. At the end of this first tutorial you will have established a solid foundation to further develop your skill set as an artist.
Your instructor
Kim is an Artist renowned for her large scale vibrant botanical paintings. Kim's work is held in private and corporate collections Internationally. A signature piece is a mural in the Oasis Room of the prestigious Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town.
Kim is mostly commissioned for private works and also participates in group exhibitions throughout the year.
The Vergelegen Wine Estate in Cape Town also owns a collection of Kim's Work.
For the past 30 years, Kim has worked as a professional artist, living in Botswana, The UK and Now Cape Town where she works from her studio in Kommetjie. in 2025 Kim has been invited for an art residency at Ateleur le Grand Village in France.
Throughout her career Kim has held many art workshops, inspiring the learners with her unique and insightful approach.
